Forensic Psychiatry Experience

Dr.Morthala completed his Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship training at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Division of Law and Psychiatry in Columbia, SC in 2006.

He has conducted more than two hundred Forensic Psychiatry Evaluations in the past two years related to various Forensic issues including Competency to Stand Trial, Criminal Responsibility, Death Penalty, Psychiatric Malpractice, Sexual Harassment, Fitness for Duty, Psychiatric Disability and Violence Risk Assessment.

Dr.Morthala has qualified as an expert witness in Pennsylvania, Lousiana and in South Carolina (civil and criminal settings).

Dr.Morthala has been invited as faculty to serve as expert witness and train solicitors at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina in 2005, 2006.  He has also been invited as faculty to serve as expert witness and train public defenders at National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA)- Habeas Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2006.

He is Board Certified in Forensic Psychiatry.
